The Reverend Alistair G. Bennett - Minister
Alistiar was inducted as Minister of Christ Church on Friday, 13th May, 2016
Alistair joins us from the Scotish Boarders district and the parish of Bowden and Melrose where he has been minister for the past thirty plus years.
Alistair is joined in Bermuda by his wife Judi.
Ms. Catherine (Katie) Matthews - Honorary Choir Director
Katie went to the University of Cambridge, where she studied Music and gained a Masters degree. Naturally, she then went to work as an accountant at PwC! Three years later work brought her to Bermuda. Currently Katie is working at Athene, a Bermuda based long-term reinsurance company.
Her interest in music began when she saw her sister singing “I’m a fairy doll on a Christmas tree” at their primary school nativity play, when she was around 4 years old, and she proceeded to enthusiastically take up the piano, cello, singing and organ lessons from the ages of 7 to 18. After focusing on singing as a choral scholar at university, it felt like a natural step to begin directing a choir after finishing her studies; and so now finds herself at Christ Church Bermuda, where she has been greatly enjoying directing the choir.
Mr. Oliver Brugada-Grant - Organist
Originally from England, Oliver has been our organist since 2006. He studied piano at Madrid Conservatoire and later at both Bath Spa University and the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. He has performed in London, Bath, Chester, Manchester, Derby, Nottingham, Madrid and Bermuda. Concertos include Rachmaninov's second piano concerto with the Bath Philharmonic and later with the Derby Concert orchestra. He also performed the Liszt Piano Concerto #1 with the Chester Philharmonic orchestra. Since September 2006, Oliver has taught piano at the Bermuda School of Music.
Mr. Ross Anderson - Sexton
Ross has been our weekend Sexton for a couple of years, opening up the kitchen for the Loads of Love program, and ensuring the church sanctuary and halls are open for the services on Sunday.
